Ikat Knit Tunic – 1991
First ikat knit tunic – silk fiber, fair isle knit from 2 knit and dyed panels – 1991 – shown at Obiko and won the Marin Society of Artists – Weaver Award in 1994.
Patchwork Jacket – 1992
Machine Knit in fair-isle pattern using ikat technique in silk and wool rayon panels with decorative i-cord on front. I was fascinated by how the unexpected pariings of color would meld and bounce with each other in the garment. I often juxtaposed contrasting colors for greater impact.

Threads article 1995
How-to article on “ikat” kntting by Rebekah Younger for Threads magazine published in 1995. This was the last issue to include knits and other fiber arts before shifting to sewing content exclusively. The article was later re-published by Taunton press in a book called “Great Knits”
First Production design for Younger Knits – 1995
Rebekah created a design using her ikat knit technique that would be both friendly to handknitters to try the technique and production worthy. This became her first best seller in the Younger Knits line. Up to this point all her garments were one of a kind.
